Core Values for St. Andrew’s United Church Williams Lake, B.C.

Accepting Community - At St. Andrew’s United Church we strive to create a faith community that is welcoming, accepting, inclusive, joyful, and open. We know that a healthy community must embrace differences and encourage new ways of doing things while respecting our history and traditions. We strive to create a positive space for everyone, knowing that sometimes we will fall short of that goal.

Christian Spirituality - Through worship, study, small groups, and events St. Andrew’s United Church is a community seeking to deepen its sense of Christian spirituality grounded in various practices. We believe there is no spiritual practice that meets the needs of all people nor that the same practice will work for everyone throughout their lives. Being aware of the ages and stages of life along with learning styles and preferences of expression we value diversity and how it deepens our relationship with Jesus and the Holy. One of the ways we seek to deepen that connection is through worship grounded in our lived experience and accessible to all who wish to gather.

Faith in Action - Our actions speak louder than words and St. Andrew’s United Church believes that faith is lived out in our relationships, community, and world. Being a faith community is more than gathering with friends. It is more than a gathering for worship. It is a way of life, a way of living, a way of being in the world. St. Andrew’s United Church seeks ways to live into and out our discipleship as an expression of the Christian Life.
